The Martin County Orchid Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit built by growers, educators, volunteers and collectors who share a passion for orchids and public learning.

Together, members support monthly speakers, scholarships, native orchid restoration, the Orchid Shade House and public outreach that keeps orchid appreciation alive across Florida's Treasure Coast.

Orchid Shade House

A signature MCOS accomplishment in full bloom.

Since 2002, the Martin County Orchid Society has proudly maintained the Orchid Shade House at Treasure Coast Hospice, providing visitors with a beautiful collection of orchids while promoting education, conservation, and appreciation of these extraordinary plants.

The Shade House is one of the society's most visible public gifts, a welcoming place where orchid beauty and community stewardship meet.

Native Orchid Restoration Program

Returning Native Orchids to Martin County Landscapes

Members of the Martin County Orchid Society work with environmental professionals, community organizations, garden clubs, researchers and volunteers to support the responsible restoration of native orchids in appropriate local settings.

More than 500 orchids have already been placed in Martin County, and the work continues through preparation days, approved outplanting projects, follow-up care and public education.
